Does anyone know how I can touch up bright red hair?

I used Manic Panic last time and now after like two months (okay yes I waited far too long :C) it’s faded a lot and I was just wondering if I should mix the same dye with developer or just put it on my hair without mixing it with anything? (I’m talking about the dye that has faded. I’m not worried about the roots.) It says not to mix the dye with peroxide on the bottle but would that include developer? I feel dumb asking this because I’m supposed to know this stuff but I kind of don’t, so can someone help me out? :D I would love you so much <3 And I would really appreciate it if some pros helped too! :)

BTW: Questions are getting answered tomorrow and possibly a bit tonight. Sorry for the wait!

  1. stacixsunshine answered: mixing manic panic with developer separates the dye and makes it way too thin. there are glazes out there that re-enhance color, maybe try?
  2. logicalphallacy answered: Don’t mix it. Dyes like MP are basically conditioner with pigments, so you can leave it in longer or use heat to make it more intense, too.
  3. theeeoo answered: peroxide = developer. If the shade of red you bought is a little to dark mix it with a crap load of conditioner.
  4. verydeepshit answered: When I had red hair I bleached my hair with pretty weak bleacher what didnt do much damage to hair but made it lighter and then re-dyed it.
  5. thesleeplessgoldfish answered: developer wont help at all, the only way to keep your hair bright is to dye it at least once a month if not more often
  6. caledhel answered: They make red tint that you can buy at Sally’s! It’s called Beyond the Zone Pro Formula and i used to use that. Redken also makes one too.
  7. haleyjr answered: Don’t use developer!!! Manic Panic is meant to be used alone. Developer will just make your hair dry, and it won’t aid at all.
